چکیده
Ten herbal products, made up of five powdery and liquid samples different brands, were assessed microbiologically for the presence types microorganisms. Qualitative quantitative phytochemical screening above was also conducted to verify or absence bioactive components. bacterial species, viz: Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella typhi, Shigella dysenteriae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Corynebacterium diptheriae, Streptococcus pyogenes, Enterobacter cloacae, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Clostridium botulinum, isolated from these products. The fungi Aspergillus Niger, Rhizopus stolonifer, Alternaria alternata, flavus, Fusarium verticillioides, oxysporium, Mucor racemosus. Results revealed flavonoids, saponins, terpenoids, tannins. Alkaloid most abundant in samples, with a value 1070.04 mg/100g sample F, while least F phenol (0.38 mg/100g). GC-MS analysis certain compounds such as thiophene, propanoic acid, 2,2-dimethyl-, ethyl ester, pentanoic 2-methyl, toluene, many others that exhibited significant antimicrobial effects. These are known possess properties. this study that, though products contain potential antioxidant properties, they contaminated microorganisms health importance. Hence, local herbalists preparing need be educated on good manufacturing practices (GMP). Doi: 10.28991/SciMedJ-2022-04-04-03 Full Text: PDF
